The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially summoned all ten Indian Premier League franchise owners, team CEOs, and broadcast stakeholders to Mumbai on October 15 for a high-level summit to finalize governance policies and player regulations for the landmark 20th IPL edition.
Agenda Focuses on Auction Dynamics and Retention
Convened at the BCCI Headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium, the summit will tackle vital administrative matters including player purse increments, overseas player draft protocols, and retention guidelines ahead of the upcoming mini-auction in December.
Franchise owners will also debate player workload parameters, international availability windows, and enhanced injury-replacement mechanisms across the expanded 84-match league format.
Milestone 20th Anniversary Celebrations
With IPL 2027 marking the twentieth season since the league's revolutionary inception in 2008, the BCCI plans special commemorative showcases, historic exhibitions, and expanded fan-park activations across tier-two and tier-three Indian cities.
'This meeting will shape the commercial and competitive framework for the next five-year cycle of the IPL. We want all stakeholders aligned on competitive parity and long-term sustainability,' a senior BCCI functionary confirmed on Saturday.
